PMO Consultant (Delivery Insights)

Introduction

Our client are a large defence consultancy looking for PMO professionals to support projects within their secure government sector.

 

Our client are looking for a data-driven PMO (Project Management Office) professional who can turn project data into clear insights to help government programmes succeed.

 

You will be joining a team of Analysts and PMO professionals to help guide creation, improvement and interpret dashboards, reports and data focussed outputs.

 

Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with at least four days per week on site.

Key responsibilities
  • Collect, cleanse and interpret delivery data from multiple sources.
  • Maintain dashboards and reporting cycles that support programme governance.
  • Interpret trends, forecast performance and highlight emerging risks or delivery challenges.
  • Produce visually compelling reports, dashboards and data products that tell a clear story.
  • Engage with delivery teams to understand context behind the data.
  • Support planning, scheduling and financial monitoring by providing data insight.
  • Contribute to designing and improving reporting frameworks and data structures.
  • Provide recommendations for improving project performance based on insight.
  • Work closely with PMO, Project Managers, Risk Managers, Planners and other capabilities to align information.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and help improve the maturity of insight-driven delivery.
  • For more experienced candidates: coordinate and guide insight workstreams, act as a senior advisor, coach junior analysts and contribute to capability growth.
Skills & experience
  • Interest or experience in handling data.
  • Basic Excel skills (formulas, lookups, charts).
  • Exposure to Power BI or similar tools (desirable).
  • Ability to interpret numbers and articulate simple insights.
  • Interest in project management or delivery environments.
  • University, apprenticeship, internship or prior work experience in related areas.

 

And for more experienced candidates:

 

  • Strong insight-led experience with delivery or business intelligence data.
  • Ability to create, maintain and quality-assure dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Experience working on complex or multi-disciplinary programmes.
  • Ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities from data.
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders and presenting insights.
  • Ability to shape insightful and data-focused approaches, frameworks or capability development.
  • Experience mentoring or developing junior team members.
