Physical Security Specialist

Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a client who work on Defence and government projects, you will be responsible for building a secure facility.

You will have good knowledge of managing IT security, and good knowledge of RIBA processes and knowledge of all GOV S007 and JSP 440

This will be a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on site, with travel to other sites required.

Key responsibilities
  • Ensuring all security management requirements are met by the project and compliant with policies, standards. Developing the site FSC management plans and supporting all Operational Requirements.
  • Managing physical security and information assurance risk management practices.
  • Designing security management plans for the site and supporting operational requirements.
  • Acting as the technical lead.
  • Working collaboratively with the project team to provide advice and accurate interpretations of security conditions associated with Contracting Authority security requirements.
  • Supporting the commercial and supply chain facilities.
  • Acting as a key point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Carrying out internal assessments and necessary support to external partners and external sites.
  • promoting a key liaison role at all levels.
  • Monitor and reporting on secure operational processes.
  • Liaising with technical stakeholders and other external stakeholders.
Skills & experience
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the GOV S007as well as JSP 440 and other relevant and associated publications.
  • A strong background delivering design advice for secure facilities that meet NPSA requirements.
  • A good understanding of the RIBA process and how it aligns with the secure build process.
  • Good knowledge of developing and progressing Operational Requirements and how they feature in the design process.
  • A good level of experience in designing, developing and managing electronic security systems (CCTV, AACS, IDS/PIDS etc).
  • Experience of producing accurate security risk assessments.
  • Experience of conducting Threat and Vulnerability Assessments and developing the results of these into a proposed program of improvements.
  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a related subject.
  • High level qualification in Building / Construction works.
