Payroll Expert

Introduction

I am working with a large, global consultancy client to find them a knowledgeable Payroll Expert who can help them to process their 12,000 staff payroll. The role requires someone who is knowledgeable and able to answer complex employee tax questions and knows about things like shared parental leave.

The role will be solely focused on processing the complex payroll. Into the future your time will partly be allocated to helping to support their transition to a new finance system.

The role commands a salary of up to £35,000 per annum and will be fulltime hours working 2 days per week on site in Surrey. There lots of parking available.

Key responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely input of payroll data, throughout employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure all variable payments and deductions are processed a timesheet system and the payroll.
  • Balance all interfaced data between internal and external systems, ensuring integrity of data at all times.
  • Ensure pre-payroll processing tasks are completed in a timely manner including the submission of files to HMRC.
  • Process BACS payments for monthly payrolls.
  • Process salary advances as and when needed.
  • Supporting the timely transition of employees who TUPE transfer to or from the payroll.
  • Help ensure that all internal and external audit requirements are met.
  • Assist the Contact Management Team with all payroll related queries.
  • To assist the upcoming transition of internal finance systems.

 

Skills & experience
  • Recognised payroll qualification.
  • Strong excel skills required, you’ll need to be strong at formulas.
  • Experience working with an HR offshored service delivery model.
  • An understanding of current Payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of working with Payroll systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with Flexible Benefit Programmes and Salary Sacrifice arrangements.
  • Experience of working within an in-house Payroll environment.
  • The correct candidate should have knowledge about complicated tax questions for employees and things like shared parental leave. They need to know the law/rules around sickness leave etc.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Oracle experience not essential
  • Discreet with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations.
