Introduction

Our client are a medium sized consultancy looking for a P3M specialist to join their team to deliver best practices, provide strategic insights and enhance their P3M capabilities.

You will need experience working with key government clients within the National Security sector.

Working Patterns: This role is based full time on site in Cheltenham.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and design and implementation of key portfolio, programme and project management frameworks.
  • Aligning P3M practices with organisational objectives.
  • Manage large and complex portfolios ensuring portfolio dashboards monitor risk, performance and schedules.
  • Maintaining governance framework throughout projects and programmes.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks in order to develop strategies for key projects.
  • Uphold excellent stakeholder relations with senior level stakeholders to provide P3M methodologies.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients
  • Develop continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
  • Provide mentoring and support to help consultants develop their skillset.
Skills & experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), MSP (Managing Successful Programs), MoP (Management of Portfolios), or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in project, programme, or portfolio management with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with Government Clients
  • Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, Lean, and hybrid models.
  • Tools: Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Primavera, or similar platforms.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with C-level executives and senior management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex portfolios, programs, and projects.
  • Strategic thinking with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Expert in risk management and governance practices.
