When not on customers sites there are opportunities to work from home. But our client wants someone who is keen to be involved and on site or in the office!

The ideal candidate needs to already have obtained security clearance or be eligible for Security Clearance, please familiarise yourself with the vetting process before applying.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering high quality technical safety case documentation.
  • Providing technical mentoring to junior members of staff.
  • Providing oversight of safety related deliverables.
  • Producing proposals and bids for complex or multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Manging projects to time, cost and quality expectations of the clients and customers.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Liaise and work with operators, designers, key SQEPs, and other technical experts, building strong working relationships.

The types of projects you could lead include:

  • Ensure that nuclear power stations remain safe for continuous operation.
  • Justifying the removal of plant, systems and structures and their inspection routines to support safe, secure, cost-effective defueling, in preparation for dismantling and decommissioning Britain's fleet of gas cooled reactors.
  • Inspecting equipment at nuclear power stations to ensure that it remains qualified to meet its safety functional requirements.
  • Responding to queries from the Regulator and engaging with their inspectors to demonstrate that safety case projects and related plant modifications are on track for success.
Skills & experience
  • Experience implementing and/or overseeing the implementation of the nuclear safety case process.
  • Experience of the structure and development of safety cases, safety requirements, optioneering, safety case strategy and supporting analyses.
  • Experience authoring, verifying and overseeing the production of safety-related documents.
  • Working towards being Chartered with a Professional Intuition, or successfully Chartered.
