Network Engineer

My client is an exciting and growing UK technology company who focus on research, development, and delivery of technical solutions for the MOD.

They are looking for a Network Engineer to design, build and implement solutions and support those solutions once they are in play!

This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work 2 days from home onsite and 3 days per week in the office. You also have the opportunity to work a 9 day fortnight by compressing your hours if you would like.


Key responsibilities
  • Design, build and integrate end-to-end remote and mobile secure communications systems
  • Troubleshooting complex environments
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Testing and assessing technologies to enhance the security or capability of the environments
  • Creating, verifying, and maintaining technical documentation
Skills & experience
  • Experience in network/gateway environments
  • Proficiency with network technologies (data and voice): BGP, MPLS/VPLS, SIP, TLS, Network Management
  • Hands on experience with Cisco and Juniper network devices
  • A minimum of CCNA qualification
  • Experience configuring secure protocols such as IPsec, SSH and SNMPv3

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Experience in designing, building and providing third-line support for complex IP networks
  • Experience in the creation of both high level and low level design
  • CCNP qualification or the desire to achieve it
  • Experience with Cisco Expressway, Voice Gateways, and Unified Border Element
