Network Engineer

Introduction

Our client is a Medium sized Cyber specialist, working on Defence and Government contracts, delivering technical engineering services.

They are looking for a Network Engineer to have responsibility for the design and implementation of networks ranging in size from small bespoke solutions to large enterprise scale deployments.

Our client is very focused on career development and due to the size, can offer excellent opportunities to take on more responsibilities and technical skills!

You will need to be on site 4-5 days per week.

Key responsibilities
  • Work directly with end customers and design, maintain and support network solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Design and implementation networks solutions.
  • Deploy in-depth diagnostic skills in the resolution of complex third line support issues.
  • Creating high and low level network designs for complex IP or IP/MPLS networks (at the more senior levels).
  • Hands on implementing these solutions, using different vendors products such as Cisco and Juniper.
  • Lead/Senior roles - you’ll be managing a team of network engineers, where you’ll be responsible for their professional development.
Skills & experience
  • Experience in designing, building and providing third-line support for complex IP or IP/MPLS networks.
  • Build secure, scalable, resilient and high performing networks.
  • Experience in the creation of both high level and low level design (more senior levels)
  • Knowledge of network design for security, including firewall, IDS and IPS experience.
  • Experience configuring secure protocols such as IPsec, SSH and SNMPv3.
  • Hands on experience with Cisco and Juniper.
  • Ideally CCNA or CCNP qualifications or the desire to get them.
