My client is a leading engineering consultancy who supply their clients with complex solutions in the National Security Sector. We are looking for a Market Research Analyst to analyse and improve our company product and technologies. You will evaluate the company's current products, compare them to market competitors and emerging technologies.
Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 3 days on site
Key responsibilities
- Analyse the current sales and go-to-market (GTM) strategy, identifying areas of alignment, misalignment, and potential opportunities.
- Conduct structured assessments of competitor offerings, pricing, positioning, market routes, and partnerships.
- Build market intelligence models to track industry trends, customer buying behaviour, and emerging technology shifts.
- Provide actionable recommendations to enhance market presence, differentiation, and commercial strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Strategy, Marketing, and Product teams to validate insights and shape business outcomes, while supporting transformation efforts such as requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder workshops.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst working on market analysis, competitor intelligence, commercial strategy, or go-to-market (GTM) projects.
- Strong understanding of technology markets, particularly within software, digital services, or advanced engineering sectors.
- Skilled at interpreting complex market data and creating structured insights that inform and influence strategic decisions.
- Familiar with software products, IT services, and licensing models.
- Proficient in using Office 365 and Visio, with a confident ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and manage multiple analytical workstreams independently. Exposure to defence and national security markets is beneficial.
