Introduction

Our client is a leading Defence organisation who are supporting the MOD by designing and producing GPS anti-jamming systems.

The candidate will work across the lifecycle, focusing on providing Systems and Hardware expertise, with the role progressing into the Lead Design Authority over time.

Experience within a Systems Design role and on GPS/RF/Radar/Satellite etc. products before is essential.

Working Patterns: This role is based in Essex on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.

Key responsibilities
  • Act as the Design Authority across the product lifecycle, from requirements capture, Analysis, Design through to testing, qualification, certification and in-service support.
  • Lead customer management reviews as well as obsolesce, risk and FRACAS reviews.
  • Responsible for generating technical documentation, systems analysis, hardware design, participation in technical design reviews and technical direction/custodianship of the products.
  • Production support and obsolescence maintenance, management of project requirements,
  • Additional responsibilities include supporting the Systems Team in the generation of bid/proposal material.
  • Laboratory work will be involved for product testing.
  • Some overseas travel and UK wide travel is expected within the role.
Skills & experience
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through to project completion with a hardware/electronic based product.
  • Experience with generation of technical documentation at all levels from requirements capture through to design.
  • Experience providing technical direction/guidance in the development of electronic solutions.
  • Experience of GPS/radar/radio frequency/satellites/software defined radio etc.
  • Algorithm development incorporating Modelling experience in MATLAB/Simulink is desirable.
  • Experience with SysMl or UML in a Systems Engineering environment.
