Lead Aerospace Systems Engineer

Our client is a leading Aerospace and Defence Engineering Consultancy and they are looking to grow their team in the Aerospace division!

This is an excellent opportunity for a ‘Systems Thinker’ who wants to support cutting edge projects within Advanced Air Mobility.

A lot of the work can be done remotely but you are able to go into the office/on-site as much as you want (and is required!). You will have a base of Bristol, Hampshire or Manchester.

Key responsibilities
  • Apply ‘Systems Thinking’ and Systems Modelling to complex problems.
  • Support to the growth of the Aerospace capability within the company through the provision of systems engineering expertise.
  • Support to the development of an Advanced Air Mobility Operational Framework through the provision of System of Systems thinking.
  • Collaboration with industry and regulatory stakeholders to understand and shape potential solutions.
  • Conduct technical analyses of a wide range of topics (e.g. through-life sustainability of vehicles, asset management, command and control and human factors) and make recommendations.
  • Develop understanding of customers’ needs and development of appropriate solutions.
Skills & experience
  • Experience in one or more aspect of Aerospace subject including aircraft systems, flight operations, airspace integration, regulator frameworks and infrastructure.
  • A good understanding of the Aerospace regulatory environment.
  • Innovative, out of the box thinking and comfortable with challenging existing processes and limitation through cross collaboration with others.
  • Working with complex systems and advanced system integration.
  • Techniques applied in engineering to capture requirements and develop solution designs.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to communicate effectively and build trusted relationships.
  • Leadership/mentoring and technical leadership experience.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Professionally recognised with an appropriate professional institution e.g. CEng, IEng or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of modelling languages and architecture frameworks, e.g. UML, SysML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, MODAF.
