This role will require some onsite presence but will allow for some home working. You will be working with a market leading cyber security consultancy on exciting projects with some of the world most high-profile companies!

You will join a team of talented infrastructure engineers with a focus on BAU delivery. This is both an internal and occasionally client facing role. This is a wide and diverse role with fantastic opportunity to learn many modern technologies and systems.

Key responsibilities
  • Be responsible for BAU deliverables such as Faults, Tickets, Reporting, Auditing, Patching, Day-To-Day System Housekeeping and Upgrades.
  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux systems.
  • Manage and maintain Storage and Network platforms.
  • Manage and maintain Virtualisation platforms (VMware)
  • Manage and maintain Security systems such as IDS/IPS, SIEM and EDR
  • Develop documentation and process for the BAU function following internal engineering standards / best practice.
  • Participate in an On-Call rota (typically one week in four but on occasion more often during sickness and leave)
Skills & experience
  • You should have experience (Minimum of 2 years in IT helpdesk or similar) and skills within Technical Support looking for the next challenge.
  • You should be able to critically assess current technical and security practices (systems, infrastructure, and processes), and make recommendations for improvement and innovation, as well as overseeing the implementation your recommendations.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Microsoft Windows Server (2012,2016,2019,2022)
  • Linux Administration (Centos, Ubuntu)
  • General Microsoft Technologies (Exchange, Active Directory Etc,)
  • Cloud (Azure, AWS, Etc)
  • PKI, SSL/TLS Certificate Understanding.
  • Scripting Skills (PowerShell, PhP, Python etc)
  • Virtualisation Technologies (VMware, HyperV)
  • Security Software (Such as AV, SIEM, IDS, IPS, SOAR)
  • Database Management (SQL, MySQL, Elastic)
  • System Backup Software (SCCM etc)
  • System Monitoring (Solar Winds, Cacti Etc.)
  • Physical Hardware Experience (Deploying rack mount servers, configuring them etc)
  • Storage systems (VNX, Dell StorageWorks, ISCSI, Fiber channel etc)
  • ITIL Aware
  • SIEM experience (ideally LogRhythm, Splunk, Elastic SIEM, SOAR Technologies such as Cortex or Azure Sentinel)
  • Networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalling, Routing Etc...)
