Junior Infrastructure Engineer
Introduction
An IT Support Engineer is in demand to join our client as their team grows.
As this client supports Defence and Government projects, we are looking out for a candidate with an enthusiastic attitude, the ability to diagnose hardware or software issues, provide effective assistance, and maintain strong customer relationships.
Our client is on the lookout for a determined candidate with an interest to learn, develop, and progress into a fully-fledged Infrastructure Engineer.
This role is based full time on site in central Cheltenham.
Key responsibilities
- Use in-depth knowledge of business software and hardware systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and high-level interpersonal skills to solve problems for customers.
- Installing and configuring computer systems.
- Responding to IT support requests.
- Diagnose software, networking, or hardware issues.
- Offering solutions and advice.
- Repairing hardware malfunctions, software issues, and networking problems.
- Tracking and managing work records.
- Compiling and contributing to IT Knowledge Bases.
Skills & experience
- Passionate and excited about a career in IT.
- Experience with Service Management tools such as HP SM, Jira Service Desk.
- Networking (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell).
- Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V).
- System Automation (Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
- System Administration (Microsoft, Linux).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.
- Ability to think critically.
