Integrated Product Support Engineer

This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week required onsite and the rest of the work can be done from home. You may also get the opportunity for international travel up to twice per year.

My client is a large defence and engineering consultancy who specialise in research and technology development.

They are looking for an IPS Engineer to provide advice across different business functions and implement IPS activities. You will need to have experience applying IPS methodologies to low volume high value products within highly regulated environments.

Key responsibilities
  • Carry out in-service product and system supportability analysis.
  • Collaborate with different business areas to ensure supportability is considered during design processes.
  • Influence design for optimum reliability, maintainability, testability and availability.
  • Prepare IPS and supportability documentation.
  • Deliver tailored IPS plans to ensure requirements are met.
  • Conduct detailed Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), Supportability Analysis (SA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), spares modelling and Ease of Maintenance Assessments (EMA).
  • Produce and support the production of FMECAs, RBDs, MTBF generation and reliability predictions.
  • Production and amendment of Technical Manuals to various formats, i.e. AESPs, COTS manuals.
Skills & experience
  • Degree or HND/HNC qualified or with relevant experience in the Defence Industry.
  • Experience applying IPS methodologies to low volume, high value, products and systems in a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of the application of through-life support standards such as ASD S-Series Specifications, DEF STAN 00-600, 00-40, 00-42, Mil Std 217F and KiD Framework.
  • Good knowledge of MOD support frameworks and experience in their application as a supplier
  • Experience in using industry recognised IPS/ARM modelling software
