Our client is a leading infrastructure consultancy, delivering large-scale, complex projects across a variety of sectors throughout the UK.
They are seeking a skilled Project Manager with proven experience across infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to successful delivery, ensuring compliance with NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.
Key responsibilities
- Ensuring successful delivery of the project to agreed targets on programme, budget and quality.
- Identifying and agreeing project objectives and developing a strategy for achieve goals and objectives.
- Identifying and managing contractual and commercial risk to mitigate situation effectively.
- Building, motivating, maintaining, coaching and guiding the team to ensure alignment with objectives.
- Facilitating communication, co-ordination and information flow with the Client and within the project team, including any subcontractors and partners (internal and external).
- Assembling and owning the project delivery programme and delivery plans.
- Protecting the commercial interest of our client, including timely and accurate invoicing and effective credit control for optimal cash flow (with the support of the finance community).
- Comparing revenue with predicted costs and identifying risk allowances, margin and provisions – at project set-up and monthly thereafter, including Earned Value reporting.
- Closing out the project on completion, archiving project documentation, updating market information, ensuring that lessons learnt are captured and disseminated internally and ensuring that a Client Satisfaction survey is initiated.
- Support business development activities in line with our client’s market strategies and governance.
Skills & experience
- Degree qualified, with demonstrable experience managing design commissions and/or design and build contracts on large infrastructure projects.
- Chartered Engineer/Scientist/PM.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership potential.
- Demonstrable experience in deploying various forms of contract, in particular NEC3 or 4.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a larger multi-discipline team.
- Customer focused with excellent client relationship management skills.
- Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with clients.
