Our client is supporting the Ministry of Defence with their Training Services, and they are looking for an experienced IA Engineer to provide Information Assurance guidance across the programme.
This is a customer facing role so it is imperative that you are comfortable working with both internal and external stakeholders, providing solutions to risk based problems.
Secure by Design and Defence experience is essential for this role.
Working Patterns: This role is primarily remote with up to 25% of the time on site in Reading (likely less). This will be expensed if more than 50 miles away.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting Information Assurance with a Defence context.
- Act as the trusted advisor to the programme by ensuring industry best practice and that customer security requirements are implemented with regards to IA, cyber security and security risk management.
- Work hand-in-hand with the customer to understand their security requirements and risks.
- Provide assurances to both the business and customer whilst providing innovative solutions.
- Implement, manage, and continually improve information assurance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Develop, implement, and maintain information and security architectures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify, assess, and prioritise security risks.
- Act as the trusted advisor to the programme by ensuring industry best practice and customer security requirements are implemented.
- Work closely with the customer to understand their requirements and problems and provide concise evidential findings and advice.
- Lead training and coaching sessions on security initiatives.
Skills & experience
- Experience taking a lead in an Information Assurance role within a Defence environment.
- Understanding of formulating, recording and managing security risk.
- Understands security requirements and how to decompose them.
- Understanding/experience of Secure by Design.
- Understanding how obsolescence impacts IA.
- Supporting the development of Risk Management Framework documents and controls.
- Experience/understanding of Cryptography including processes and procedures.
- Working knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework, ISO 27001 and HMG Security Policy Framework.
- Hold CISSP, CGRC, CISM, CRISC, BCS CITP or similar.
