Key responsibilities
  • You will form part of a very busy Procurement Team to provide the day-to-day hands on management of importing, exporting and subsequent distribution of parts in support of our clients contract.
  • As our Import & Export Specialist you will be responsible for customs declarations, enquiries or issues arising from our import/export operation and an escalation point for more complex and technical customs declarations. You will liaise with HMRC, Border Force, our suppliers, partners and our wider organisation in order to ensure we import or export goods in line with current regulations and UK/International law
  • You will lead in ensuring all import and export records are maintained in accordance with Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) regulations
  • Be a source of knowledge and advice for internal and external stakeholders in all areas of customs requirements
Skills & experience

Essential Technical Competencies:

  • Possess a practical in-depth knowledge of import / export customs regulations functions to successfully resolve any problems that arise
  • Have a good understanding of root cause analysis techniques to identify solutions and corrective plans as required.

 

Essential Non-Technical Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and plan workloads
  • Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a professional attitude and be a good team player and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work autonomously within a team with a minimal amount of supervision
  • A positive approach to change and flexibility in working hours essential
