ILS Engineer

This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week required onsite and the rest of the work can be done from home. You may also get the opportunity for international travel up to twice per year.

My client is a large defence and engineering consultancy who specialise in research and technology development.

They are looking for an ILS Engineer to liaise with different business functions and implement ILS activities. You will need to carry out supportability analysis and ensure ILS support requirements are met

Key responsibilities
  • Carry out system supportability analysis.
  • Ensure internal and external ILS support requirements are met.
  • Keep project teams informed of any risks or issues.
  • Deliver the ILS service support offering across business functions to ensure they meet whole life targets.
  • Deliver ILS strategies, plans and reports in conjunction with the relevant service including ILS elements planning, and LSA tailoring.
  • Own ILS responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Invitations to Tender (ITT), and Statements of Work (SoW).
  • Support engineering in the production of FMECA’s, RBD’s and MTBF generation.
Skills & experience
  • Degree or HND/HNC qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant experience in the Defence Industry.
  • Experience contributing to bid responses, understanding customer requirements, estimating costs, and providing bid content such as ILS/IPS plans.
  • Experience in the service support of low volume, high value, products and systems in a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of the application of through-life support standards such as DEF STAN 00-600, 00-40, 00-42, Mil Std 217F and KiD.
  • Good knowledge of MOD support frameworks and experience in their application as a supplier.
