Key responsibilities

As a Geospatial Software Engineer division you'll play a vital role in solving our clients’ big challenges in defence, civil government, infrastructure and industry. You’ll get involved across the entire Software Development Lifecycle, developing, delivering and supporting bespoke geospatial solutions. Keep yourself challenged on our wide variety of projects, from cutting edge prototypes to maintaining and extending large, established solutions.

  • Develop web and desktop GIS solutions
  • Perform and deliver project tasks, to quality, time, and budget requirements and in accordance with the Agile Delivery methodology
  • Apply your knowledge of Geospatial technology and discipline to advise and contribute to the design of technical solutions
  • Assist in the maintenance and operation of enterprise GIS platforms to support ‘Business As Usual’ operations.
  • Engage with stakeholders and Product Owners
  • Contribute to research projects through development of prototypes and/or synthesised Geospatial data products
  • Document the design, development and delivery of technical solutions
  • Provide technical assistance to business users and support the wider team on troubleshooting issues
  • Mentor junior staff to aid their development
Skills & experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate practical technical experience of desktop and web application development using:

  • C#
  • .Net Standard or .Net Core
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript and client-side JavaScript frameworks

They will also have experience in at least one of the following:

  • Solution development using the Esri ArcGIS Platform using any of the following-
  • Python or R geoprocessing solutions
  • ArcGIS API for JavaScript
  • Esri Leaflet
  • ArcGIS .Net Runtime
  • Solution development using FME Desktop, Sever or Cloud
  • Development using open-source geospatial technology e.g. Openlayers, Geoserver, QGIS, PostGreSQL
