Firmware Engineer

Introduction

Our client works in Defence and are looking for a Firmware/Electronics Designer Engineer to join their team to

produce designs and assist in the integration of these designs into products.

They will have the opportunity to support engineering solutions by supporting the integration of contributions from all other engineering disciplines.

Hybrid – 3 days per week on site, the rest can be done remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Schematic generation, PCB design, component selection, evaluation and verification.
  • Work alongside system engineers on architectures of electronic subsystems.
  • Develop requirements to ensure compliance to the relevant standards.
  • Work alongside embedded software engineers and mechanical engineers
  • Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews.
Skills & experience
  • Experience with embedded digital electronics and microprocessor systems
  • Experience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies.
  • Experience of VHDL programming Language for Xilinx or Microsemi FPGAs
  • Experience taking prototypes and turning them into production hardware.
  • Experience designing PCBs in conformance with defence engineering standards/airborne standards.
  • Experience in designing for manufacture.
