Equipment Supportability Engineer

Introduction

This is a hybrid role so you will likely need to be onsite as and when required (this might mean some weeks are fully remote but you need to be able to attend when required).

My client is a large defence and engineering consultancy who provide through-life support to the Ministry of Defence and other government clients.

They are looking for a Supportability Engineer to provide day-to-day support to an Equipment Management team. You will be there to manage technical queries, manage obsolescence, source and interpret design data, and provide technical guidance.

Key responsibilities
  • Initial point of contact for technical queries
  • Interpret technical standards and specifications
  • Manage equipment obsolescence
  • Source and interpret design data
  • Arrange and participate in meetings with MoD and other stakeholders
  • Assist in finding alternative supply sources
  • Support defect management
  • Monitor and manage obsolescence

 

Skills & experience
  • HNC in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in equipment support or engineering
  • Experience with technical specifications, drawings, and standards
  • Ability to create compliant technical documentation
  • Knowledge of engineering interfaces and design intent
  • Awareness of obsolescence management
