This will be a mostly remote role with a base location being one of the client sites based around the country.

As the Digital Enterprise Cloud Architect for our client’s growing portfolio of digital products, you’ll collaborate with Heads of Products and Product Owners while reporting to the Portfolio & Products Director. You’ll be entrusted with understanding business requirements and our digital future aspirations to design and lead the implementation of global scalable architecture that supports a growing portfolio of data driven products.

As a technical lead, you'll leverage industry best practices to standardise the approach and methods applied to solution architecture.  Streamlining their approach, maximising its value, and architecting an agile technology stack that can meet business and client needs. From Digital Future to Design Transformation, Engineering Net Zero to realising EDPM's accelerated growth strategy – you'll ensure visibility and coherence across some of their most vital projects and programmes.

Key responsibilities
  • Establish an enterprise cloud architecture to support our growing portfolio of digital products.
  • Analyse business drivers and constraints to assess solution options and devise an architectural solution that achieves both strategic business goals and those of our clients.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to provide technical direction and solutions for emerging products.
  • Support the Products & Portfolio Director with formulating estimates and costs of the solutions and it’s ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Work closely with other functional areas and security to ensure adequate security solutions are in place.
  • Build the technical artifacts that document the enterprise architecture.
  • Develop an optimised solution that will support our data led approach to service delivery, taking into consideration data, security and usage constraints.
  • lead and oversee the implementation of technical architecture to support software development and full product lifecycle.
  • Guard the quality of the solution on elements such as performance, stability, maintainability and robustness of new features and the solution evolution.
  • Understand the full extent of current and future digital solutions, their integration and how they fit into an enterprise infrastructure.
  • Work with the Global Technology Centre to define and implement an overarching operating model for data architecture.
  • Ensure that all solutions are secure, stable, scalable and commercially viable to facilitate storage, integration, usage and access.
Skills & experience
  • A natural collaborator, deeply committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive work experience in a similar or related role.
  • Experience with cloud solutions such as MS Azure and AWS.Experience with Mircoservices architecture.
  • Experience of designing and implementing single product through to enterprise-wide cloud architecture.
  • Experience with different deployment models such as on-prem, hybrid and SAAS solutions.
  • Demonstrable expertise in developing global data architected solutions and multi-tenant products.
  • Hands-on knowledge leading and managing a team of full stack developers.
  • Background developing and delivering against investment cases.
  • Preferred experience in the engineering and construction industry, working with and managing strategic partners.
  • Proficiency working with virtual teams globally to develop, operate and maintain products, preferred.
