DV Cleared Infrastructure Engineer

Introduction

Our client is a key supplier for a government department, and they are looking to fill a number of opportunities across Systems Integration, Infrastructure and Test.

They are specifically looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to work within Cloud or virtualised environments and offer a variety and increasing work load!

Working Patterns - Predominantly on site – option of a 9 day fortnight.

Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing a range of infrastructure engineering tasks across the development life cycle.
  • Ability to be able to apply knowledge of engineering best practice and to apply appropriate processes, procedures and tools throughout the development life cycle.
  • Required to provide input into estimating/planning, will work under limited supervision to meet customer needs and contribute towards ensuring that project milestones are met.
  • Developing test support tools or automated scripts using modern languages or scripting.
  • Working in a test capacity in the areas of COTS Integration and Agile Systems Development.
Skills & experience
  • Solid understanding and application of systems and integration engineering principles, requirements analysis and decomposition, system architecture and design.
  • Understanding of virtualisation concepts, especially ESXi, vSphere and associated interfaces/APIs.
  • Linux and/or Windows experience and comfort with Bash shell and Powershell.
  • Experience/familiarity with deployment tools (mainly Ansible and Terraform).
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools, JIRA/Confluence/BitBucket.
  • Strong networking skills (TCP/IP) and possibly NSX-T.
  • Software development experience or familiarity particularly with Python.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
