DV Application Support Engineer

Our client is a Software Development SME who are passionate about what they do and are looking for equally enthusiastic engineers to join their team of approx. 50 people.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Unix/Linux platforms and ideally supporting Java applications (or similar.)

Working Patterns - full time on site.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational support of Java applications on a Unix platform.
  • Fulfil customer requests and proactive management of technical services.
  • Act as a main point of customer engagement for technical requests and issues, change planning and implementation.
  • Triage and diagnose incidents, determining and enacting resolution/fix, root cause analysis and documentation.
  • Plan, risk assess, and execute against requests, technical changes, and proactive management (patching, updates, testing and implementing planned changes) as required.
  • Performing planned work and maintenance on solutions, configuration changes, and release/deployments.
Skills & experience
  • Application support including deployment, maintenance, fault finding.
  • Java applications or similar.
  • Unix (ideally) or Linux operating systems.
  • OpenShift or Kafka experience is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role is highly desirable.
