Our client has an extensive amount of DSEAR work (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) across the UK in multiple markets.
They are looking for a Senior DSEAR Engineer with experience in the Water, Power, Energy or similar industry to join their team.
Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week onsite, some travel will be required UK wide but will be expensed from your local site.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
- Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
- Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
Skills & experience
- Chartered Engineer, ideally with training in hazardous area determination and risk assessment from a recognised body.
- Experience of the role of leading DSEAR in design delivery, ideally within the water industry, or a related process industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of the application of DSEAR, including risk assessment and area classification in accordance with EN 60079-10 and IP 15.
- Strong understanding of DSEAR legislation, ATEX directives and CDM.
