Design Engineer (Nuclear Processes)

Introduction

This is a hybrid role with travel required to Plymouth either once per week or twice per fortnight. The rest of the work can be done from home.

My client is a large defence and engineering consultancy who work closely with the Ministry of Defence and other government clients.

They are looking for a Design Engineer to provide technical engineering support and advice, as well as undertake design activities relating to engineering dock facilities.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers, planning and organising tasks and facilitating progress.
  • Produce design documentation and support assessments.
  • Develop designs in accordance with the design process.
  • Provide advice on the implementation and maintenance of design documentation.
  • Provide through-life technical support for nuclear process assets.
Skills & experience
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation, and maintenance of pressure/pipework systems.
  • Knowledge of the design lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of regulations and legislation applicable to nuclear processes.
