Defence Systems Engineer
Introduction
Our client is a large defence company looking for a senior systems engineer to work across the full systems engineering project lifecycle on projects for the Royal Navy.
You will be involved with requirements, design, integration and acceptance, as well as implementing systems engineering processes.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
Key responsibilities
- Work to define work packages and technical requirements from the customer.
- Complete systems engineering activities across the whole lifecycle, from capturing and managing requirements, through to IV&V and delivery.
- Support the implementation of Systems Engineering processes.
- Perform systems design, integration and acceptance.
- Create systems models using MBSE.
- Lead stakeholder technical reviews.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience and knowledge of Systems Engineering models, ideally within a Defence environment.
- Experience of requirements development, design, integration and acceptance.
- Experience using requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, Enterprise Architect or similar).
- Experience using MBSE tools and techniques such as Enterprise Architect, Bizz Design, No Magic, SysML, UML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, SOSAF, or UAF.
- Knowledge of marine electronic equipment and/or the marine environment is desirable.
- Familiar with military environmental standards (e.g. DEF STAN 00-35, 59-411).
