Data Engineering Consultant

Our client is looking to build and grow their Data technical practice and are therefore looking for excellent Data Engineers who have a strong technical background as well as experience with technical implementation and delivery.

They are looking for someone who is confident with the full Azure stack, and has knowledge of designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that will enable clients to extract value from their data assets.

You will be expected to do a technical and coding test so please ensure you are comfortable in a technical role before applying.

Unfortunately, our client cannot sponsor visas.

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.

• Work directly with clients to come up with data solutions, as well as implementing and delivering these solutions.
• Be ‘client facing’ and communicate ideas, bids and technical solutions to them.
• Understand and define components of the data landscape and how it relates to the data strategy.
• Understand and translate end-user requirements into designs and delivery plans for effective data solutions.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain highly automated data pipelines using Azure.
• Analyse and resolve data quality issues.
• Build, maintain, and support data workflows and the necessary infrastructure as part of a data and analytics delivery team.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and promote theses through the team.
• Take knowledge or experience and translate into new ideas or solutions.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation and processes.

• Be a technical expert and want to work in a technical role.
• Be able to understand the ‘bigger picture’ of what impact your data engineering has on the wider project/business.
• Some experience of translating requirements into viable solutions.
• Proven experience in at least some of the following: Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse (and data warehousing approaches) or SSIS, Azure Analysis Services or DataOps.
• Programming experience of SQL, Python, Spark, DAX or C#.
• An understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, GIT, Terraform etc.) would be great.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
