Introduction

Our client is delivering Data Analytics services within the Defence industry.

 

They are looking for someone who can lead projects and deliveries, acting as a Senior Consultant, so experience within a customer facing environment is ideal.

 

You will need experience using a variety of tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.

 

Working Patterns: This role has an office base of Birmingham, but there will be travel to Derby or other clients 2-3 days per week, which will be expensed. They can consider candidates based in Derby as well.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide data analysis and technical support for work within the Defence industry.
  • Support the development of analysis and modelling capabilities.
  • Work with the client’s stakeholders to understand their technical and modelling requirements.
  • Build dashboards and visualisations using a variety of tools.
  • Manage data capture and validation.
  • Identify and run different business and model scenarios.
  • Analyse model output, producing reports and commentary.
  • Support client’s use of model outputs for decision making.
  • Test systems and models against requirements.
  • Prepare written project communication materials and presentations.
  • Prepare formal project progress and other reports.
  • Lead/mentor junior members of teams as required.
Skills & experience
  • Experience working in a Defence or Public Sector/Government role, ideally within a client facing environment.
  • Experienced using Excel for modelling and SQL.
  • Experience of visualising data with software such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Candidates will be expected to engage with clients and be comfortable in eliciting requirements from non-technical stakeholders.
  • This role will require good analytic and strong numeracy skills with the ability to understand and present data in different representations.
  • Ability, or the desire to learn, to programme in languages such as VBA.
