Data Architect Consultant

Introduction

This is a hybrid role with around 2-3 days per week required onsite. The rest of the work can be done from home. You may also be required to travel to client sites although this can be expensed.

My client is a large consultancy who offer technical and strategic consultancy services to large government clients.

They are looking for a Data Architect to work with clients and design and develop data architectures that meet their business requirements. You will be collaborating with different business areas to ensure data solutions are scalable and secure.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct data assessments to understand clients' business requirements and data architectural needs.
  • Apply data consolidation, standardization, and optimisation.
  • Identify and document data sources, definitions, and lineage to enhance clients' understanding of their data.
  • Design and develop scalable data architectures.
  • Develop data models, dictionaries, and integration processes to ensure data accuracy. .
  • Document architecture design decisions, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business requirements.
  • Define and enforce data security and privacy policies, including access controls, encryption, and data retention.
Skills & experience
  • Extensive experience in data architecture, modelling, integration, and warehousing.
  • Strong background in database management systems and data modelling techniques.
  • Proficiency with cloud data tools and platforms such as AWS.
  • Proven experience in a consulting role, delivering data architecture solutions across various industries.
  • Data modelling tools such as ER/Studio, Power Designer, or Erwin.
  • Data integration tools like Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, or Microsoft SSIS.
  • Familiarity with various data modelling techniques including ER modelling, dimensional modelling, and NoSQL modelling.
  • Professional qualifications such as CITP, CDMP, or TOGAF are desirable.
