You can expect to work as part of a growing team solving their clients’ most challenging business problems, leveraging your data & analytics experience to design and implement complex solutions, as well as influencing technology strategy, policy and governance regimes. They cross the divide that other suppliers to Government cannot bridge – they discover our client’s unique needs with them, innovate together with creativity, design & build-out their agile solutions, and help their business change and adapt, whilst coaching and mentoring leaders at all levels.

In Data & Analytics Delivery, they help their clients implement large scale data programmes that deliver on the promise of technology. They specialise in data and information – how to structure it, how to source it, how to transform it, how to store it, and how to consume it.

Key responsibilities

The Data & Analytics Delivery team sits within the company’s Analytics and Cognitive consulting group. You’ll be working on a range of initiatives and projects across the Defence, Security and Justice sector. Their projects vary greatly and your responsibility as a consultant will differ based on the focus of the client engagement and your skillset but could include and may require you to:

  • Design or build part of a data solution such as an ETL component, data warehouse or reporting solution, data virtualisation implementation
  • Work with client stakeholders to design the source to target mappings for a large scale data migration
  • Advise clients on appropriate tooling for a particular solution based on your expertise in specific technologies
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews or support client workshops to capture business or technical requirements for a data solution
  • Support the development of client bids and presentations of proposals
  • Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
  • Develop and grow the Delivery practice by contributing to the development and delivery of training content, reusable assets, playbooks and industry / technology propositions as well as actively participating in community events to share knowledge and nurture positive and collaborative relationships within the practice.

Candidates will have hands on experience with one or more technologies relevant to these areas:

  • Business and Data Analysis

They are specifically looking for candidates with both technical and business focused skills, who can articulate the outcomes and value of their work, and have working experience in some of the following:

  • Experience of working as a data analyst with ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical data designs
  • Ability to demonstrate stakeholder management skills and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in Agile and/or DevOps for software development & IT operations and knowledge of SDLC
  • Experience in ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Talend or Pentaho
  • Knowledge of data governance and data management tools such as Informatica MDM, Informatica AXON, Informatica EDC, and Collibra
  • Knowledge of one or more databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Spark or Python
  • Familiarity with popular cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud and distributed processing technologies such as Hadoop
  • Competent use of Microsoft packages, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong written, communication and presentation skills
