This is a leading role, providing costs and pricing on rates for projects and programmes with the Ministry of Defence.
You will need to be confident speaking to senior stakeholders and negotiating commercial agreements where required.
Experience negotiating rates/pricing within the Defence industry is essential for this role.
Working Patterns: Up to 3 days per week on your local site, the rest of the role can be done remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the costing and pricing of contracts with the Ministry of Defence.
- Own senior leadership team relationships.
- Lead a team of experienced Analysts.
- Own rate submissions including monthly and annual rate cycles.
- Develop and calculate rate decks.
- Calculate the estimated and actual costing and pricing overhead that will be used to price bids.
- Calculate estimated and actual average labour rates.
- Be the single point of contact for rates analysis/reporting/queries.
- Work with the business to understand business labour, material, ODC, subcon, R&Os, and investment drivers.
- Work with the business to understand functional labour, materials, utilisation, headcount and indirect cost drivers.
- Provide stakeholders with recovery forecasts/budgets.
- Ensure compliance with MOD and auditors.
- Coordinate all programme reporting and programme audit activity with MOD.
Skills & experience
- Experience leading a pricing/rates team or similar within the Defence industry.
- CIMA / ACCA / ACA (or equivalent) qualified.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to negotiate commercial arrangements.
- Experience with proposal processes such as RLPM/IPDS.
- Experience working within a Global Company and/or a matrix organisation would be beneficial.
