Cost Controller
Introduction
Our client is a highly regarded consultancy working within the transport and utilities sector. They are looking for Cost Controls Consultants with cost control, tracking, budgeting, and reporting experience to support their high-profile clients.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across high-profile and challenging projects with a world-leading consultancy.
This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on site.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Work with the Integrated Project Team to establish an accurate Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and support change control.
- Assist in developing Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and align budgets with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for accurate cost tracking.
- Produce accruals to ensure timely reflection of Actual Cost of Work Performed.
- Develop reporting tools and generate regular cost reports with earned value analysis.
- Support Change Requests by providing cost information and integrating approved changes into the project baseline.
- Update project forecasts for a comprehensive Estimate to Complete (ETC).
- Provide cost information to the project team for status reports, project progress, and performance management decisions.
Skills & experience
- Experience of Cost Control in a project environment.
- Practical experience of using MS Excel and other MS applications.
- An awareness of Earned Value Management (EVM) fundamental concepts.
- An understanding of how other aspects of Project Controls (Scheduling, Risk Management, Reporting, Change Control) interact with Cost Control is desirable.
- A UK driving license or the ability to travel to client sites across the region as required is essential.
