Our client is looking for Control Systems/C&I Engineers who are ambitious and creative to join their team as they grow across the Power, Energy and broader infrastructure sector and Defence.
You could work across a range of different small feasibility projects to large projects which include designing and integrating safety functions into plants and substations.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience within a similar C&I/Control Systems role and be keen to join a company as they grow and develop their capability even further.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with approximately 2 days per week on site with potential travel to other sites across Manchester, Bristol or Glasgow, Staffordshire or Surrey.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake a range of tasks which centre around the design, assessment and assurance of control systems.
- Support the design of complex process plants and integrate safety functions.
- Advise on the development of safety critical systems.
- Author and develop safety specifications and cases for control systems.
- Design, commission or substantiation of safety specifications.
- Design and assess designs/processes for compliance to IEC 61508 and other standards.
- Work across all stages of the lifecycle, from feasibility and scoping, to architecture design, instrument selection and system detailed design specification.
- Support hardware and software integration activities.
Skills & experience
- Experience within a C&I/Control Systems role, ideally within Energy/Power/Nuclear/Defence or similar, but they will consider candidates from all industries.
- Electronics, Electrical or Control Systems degree.
- Experience of control and safety system specification, design, commissioning or substantiation.
- Experience of Technical report writing.
- Safety/IEC 61508 or similar would be nice, but our client are willing to train.
