Introduction

Our client is providing Electrical and Control and Instrumentation Design support to the Nuclear industry.

You will need to have experience working in a high-hazard environment (Nuclear or Defence) and have worked across the Engineering lifecycle.

Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on site.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide electrical / control and instrumentation designs for utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with legislation, standards and requirements associated with engineering design throughout the facility lifecycle.
  • Deliver electrical / control and instrumentation designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
  • Application of knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements.
  • Deliver electrical / control and instrumentation designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
  • Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
  • Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.
Skills & experience
  • Experience in a C&I or Electrical Design Engineer role within a high-hazard environment, ideally Nuclear or Defence.
  • Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to electrical engineering.
  • Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
  • Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities.
  • Experience of producing control and instrumentation designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.
