Our client is supporting the development of facilities for a Nuclear client and they are looking for a Commissioning Manager to oversee the entire lifecycle of systems, from planning and commissioning to testing and handover.
You will ensure that facilities are ready for future operations and meet required capabilities.
Experience within a Nuclear/Defence environment is essential.
Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.
Key responsibilities
- Author the facility commissioning strategy, and commissioning plans in line with work breakdown structure.
- Provide expertise in mechanical, process, electrical, or instrumentation and control to maintain nuclear safety standards and contributing to the successful transition to operation.
- Produce the commissioning schedule in line with project master integrated schedule.
- Verification and Validation of commissioning activities and documentation.
- Ensure commissioning processes are robust, fit for purpose, and effectively implemented.
- Ensure safe procedures are applied consistently for all testing and commissioning across allocated work packages.
- Witness Factory Acceptance Testing, Setting to Work, and Site Acceptance Testing in both inactive and active commissioning phases.
- Manage test failure resolution.
- Management, oversight and delivery of commissioning work packages within a complex infrastructure project.
- Understand the requirements of Commissioning procedures and ONR License Condition 21 Commissioning and ensure the commissioning framework developed, demonstrates compliance.
Skills & experience
- Demonstrable experience of developing Strategies for Testing, commissioning, and generation of handover plans within a Nuclear/Defence context.
- Demonstrable experience of verification and validation.
- Experience in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry.
- Understanding of nuclear site authorisation/conditions (or similar)
- Proven track record in complex project delivery, to schedule and time.
- Strong client and stakeholder relationship building skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of commissioning methodologies.
- Expertise in mechanical, process, electrical, or instrumentation and control.
- Strong understanding of nuclear safety protocols and procedures.
- Proven ability to manage and oversee complex commissioning processes.
