Commercial Contracts Manager

Introduction

Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as be responsible for leading the commercial governance process for bids.

This role requires someone with considerable industry experience and has strong experience negotiating and drafting public sector and Defence contracts.

3 days on-site for the first month, then expectation 1 or 2 days thereafter.

Key responsibilities
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements including prime and subcontracts, NDAs, MOUs, teaming agreements and back-to-back subcontracts
  • Drafting and agreement of sales and procurement agreements
  • Analysis and negotiation of contract terms and conditions
  • Providing commercial support to bid teams, tender responses and influencing early bid strategy
  • Commercial risk identification, mitigation and management
  • Reviewing and approving call-off contracts under a wide variety of framework types
  • Providing commercial support throughout contract delivery
  • Input to approvals processes, attendance and input at bid and governance meetings
Skills & experience
  • Strong industry experience, ideally within Defence
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and draft contractual wording with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience of negotiating complex contract terms with suppliers and/or clients
  • Good grasp of contract law
  • Knowledge of contractual documents including NDAs, MOUs, teaming agreements, sub- and prime contracts
  • Knowledge of intellectual property rights and protection
  • Knowledge of industry and government contracts including but not limited to CCS, aerospace, defence and MOD
  • Knowledge of ITAR desirable
