Are you a Commercial Aware individual who wants to get involved with a client who specialises in the Defence Sector?

Our client is looking for candidates at all levels of their career progression. They are happy to provide training and mentoring where needed!

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has just started within the defence and security sector or has experience with a commercial role within Real Estate.

This role provides hybrid working patterns located in Bristol!

The ideal candidate needs to already have obtained security clearance or be eligible for Security Clearance, please familiarise yourself with the vetting process before applying.

Our client is looking for full-time Commercial Officers to join the existing Real Estate Procurement Team based in Bristol.

The role will suit individuals who are looking for a varied and challenging role involving commissions with clients in various industry sectors, working closely with the client to support their goals and objectives within a project team.

Key responsibilities
  • Support client negotiations and evaluation of supplier proposals
  • Provide support towards the development of procurement strategies and tender documentation
  • Stakeholder management, both internally and client side
  • Identifying and recording risks
  • Measuring contract performance
  • Contract administration
  • Recognising and recommending available procurement options
  • Raising and administering purchase orders via client systems (“Oracle iProcurement”, for example)
Skills & experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance priorities from various workstreams
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Shows initiative to improve performance
  • Keen to learn and develop commercial knowledge
  • Competent in Microsoft suite (Excel,PowerPoint, Word) applications

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • Previous experience in procurement, category management, supplier relationship management, commercial/procurement policy and/or contract managing roles
  • Public sector procurement experience
  • CIPS level 4 *willingness to work towards is essential
