  • Your initial projects are likely to be focussed on civil nuclear work.
  • The role is to provide consultancy to the clients, clients, who will be responsible for systems having a significant programmable element, that are used in a safety or security critical context. Our client provides a service to our clients to provide advice on how to demonstrate the safety of such systems to ensure that they meet relevant good practice and regulatory requirements, as well as providing services to develop and verify programmable systems.
Skills & experience
  • Knowledge of design, development and test of programmable C&I systems.
  • Experience of applying standards used in safety and mission-critical industries, particularly the civil nuclear standards such as the ONR Safety Assessment Principles and Technical Assessment.

  • Experience of developing pragmatic and novel solutions to complex problems, with an ability to think “outside of the box” where required.
  • Degree-level qualification in Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Safety-critical systems engineering, Computer Science or another STEM subject.

  • Track record of developing or verifying and validating safety-critical systems and/or software in a highly regulated industry such as Nuclear, Medical or Aerospace.
  • Experience of qualifying smart devices using the EMPHASIS tool and methodology.
  • Experience of substantiating Computer Based Systems important to safety using the “two-legged” approach of Production Excellence and Independent Confidence Building Measures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
