Our client is a well-established SME within the Defence space require an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team as they grow within Defence!
They are a technical organisation providing cyber and IT capabilities to the Defence and Government sectors, so would suit someone who is excited about technology and its application within Defence.
This role is looking for someone who is exceptional at relationship management, has strong knowledge of MOD frameworks and leading bids and tenders.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week on local sites and customer sites. Likely a large proportion of time spent in Corsham.
Key responsibilities
- Be accountable for ‘owning’ the client relationship within subcontractor and prime relationships.
- Developing and executing Account and Growth strategies.
- Lead the development of bids and tenders within MOD frameworks.
- Build a more significant pipeline of qualified opportunities in agreed areas of the MOD and National Security.
- Identify and lead on opportunities with potential for long-term revenue and sustainable growth.
- Lead win work, from identifying and progressing key pursuits, to effective and compelling bid and tender submissions, to being the winning supplier.
- Be recognised as the relationship holder with the client’s delivery teams.
- Develop collaborative relationships with clients, establishing a personable but delivery focused rapport.
- Engage clients to understand their needs and their business and identifying how our services can help them.
Skills & experience
- An excellent network of relationships and a developing track record of successfully winning work within Defence.
- Passionate and excited about growth and developing opportunities.
- Experience delivering tenders and bids.
- Knowledge of MOD frameworks.
- An understanding of market dynamics and demands, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
- Good leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A desire to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and partners / supply chain.
- A passion for developing your commercial, financial and business acumen.
- Strong collaborative skills and behaviours being a real team player.
