Business Consultant

Our client is a leading UK consultancy at the forefront of delivering high-impact technology programmes across Government and Defence. As their portfolio continues to grow at pace, they are looking to hire multiple Business Analysts on a permanent basis to help drive performance and deliver real value across critical projects.

Given the nature of these engagements, experience within Defence or National Security environments is essential.

Working Patterns: This role is hybrid with 2-3 days per week on site but candidates must be prepared to travel up to 4 days per week UK wide if required.

• Partner with Defence and National Security clients to capture, analyse, and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of objectives and user needs.
• Analyse business processes, systems, and data to identify improvement opportunities and inform solution design.
• Lead workshops, interviews, and working sessions to develop requirements, user stories, and use cases.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories aligned to product and delivery teams.
• Support the definition and implementation of product-centric operating models, including effective product ownership practices.
• Provide end-to-end support across the delivery lifecycle, including impact assessments, risk analysis, testing support, and ongoing stakeholder engagement.

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst (or similar role) within Defence, Government, or National Security environments.
• Strong track record of delivering high-quality business requirements within structured project or programme delivery settings.
• Strong analytical capability across technology, with experience analysing systems, processes, and data.
• Experience in process modelling, lean methodologies, use case development, and requirements elicitation techniques.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile delivery environments, using frameworks and tools such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or LeSS.
• Consulting experience is highly desirable, with the ability to adapt quickly to different clients and delivery contexts.
• Familiarity with data and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, or similar analytics platforms.

• Strong understanding of testing against requirements, ensuring solutions meet agreed outcomes and quality standards.
• Hold active SC or DV clearance, or be eligible for SC with the willingness to progress to DV clearance.
