Our client is a leading Consultancy company who work on projects and programmes within Defence, Critical National Infrastructure, Government/Public Sector and Engineering. This client is a global organisation with many offices UK wide (and world-wide!) so the opportunities are endless!

My client is looking for 2 x Bid Managers and is happy to take more junior candidates at the lower salary level...The ideal candidate will be happy getting stuck in and managing the whole bid lifecycle.

You will be expected to go to the office in Bristol every 3 - 4 weeks (and more if required for projects) and you will need to have either Bristol, Hampshire, Manchester, Gloucestershire, London or Birmingham as a base. You will be able to work home when not required in the office (likely primarily working from home when not in Bristol).

Key responsibilities
  • Owning the bid plan and having overall responsibility for producing a compelling proposal, on time and within budget
  • Working closely with technical experts, consultants and BD staff to produce compelling bids
  • Identifying the resources required to undertake bid preparation and delivery activities
  • Working with the Bid Director to define and agree a bid budget and schedule baseline and controlling these
  • Planning, organising and scheduling activities necessary to comply with the Service Delivery Process
  • Being responsible for the design and development of the content plan and ensuring full compliance with the customer's stated requirements
Skills & experience
  • My client will take candidates from any industry, but you need to be happy to work in Defence/Nuclear/Engineering!
  • Experience of successfully delivering bids, from early inception and client information capture, through PQQ and ITT stage, onto client interviews, feedback and lessons learnt
  • Experience of structured bid processes (example Shipley) and using these to produce high quality bid submissions.
  • Excellent communication skills (for stakeholder engagement, one-to-ones to group workshops)
  • Experience liaising with external and internal contacts at a range of levels
