Automation Test Engineer

Introduction

Our client is one of the Defence and Aerospace companies in the world and they are looking for an Automation Test Engineer

You’ll be working as a team of developers, testers and analysts that embraces Agile working to design, develop and maintain the client’s web application.

They are very open to the tools and scripting languages that applicants have used in the past so open to seeing a number of candidates!

This role is primarily working from home but it will be expected that you will travel to offices quarterly for planning meetings and more if desired.

Key responsibilities
  • Create and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts.
  • Apply test skills and experience within the context of an Agile software delivery team.
  • Produce test automation strategies, plans and reports
  • Define and manage test environments; create and manage test data; define and manage test tools.
  • Integrate test automation into the deployment pipeline.
  • Promote test automation and best practices within the team and across projects.
  • Support test team interactions with the wider development team and assist in the resolution of issues.
Skills & experience
  • Proven track record of using scripted test automation to improve quality, consistency, and coverage within a software development environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of creating and managing test automation frameworks.
  • Experience of deploying and configuring complex software under Windows.
  • Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model.

Some of the following technical skills (although they can be flexible):

  • Experience of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Eggplant, PostMan, Cucumber, Robot.
  • Experience of programming/scripting languages such as Java, Perl, JavaScript, Python.
