Introduction

Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Asset Management Consultant to strengthen their growing Asset Management Transformation (AMT) team focusing on their defence market clients.  As Senior Asset Management Consultant you will work collaboratively with their Asset Management Transformation team to deliver high quality Asset Management advice and consultancy to Defence clients to support them on their Asset management transformation journey.

This is an exciting time in the Defence AMT practice as they are going through a significant step change in growth. This step change is driven by demand from clients and their challenges in AM, as the Defence sector is starting to adopt asset management principles and apply them to equipment type assets rather than the traditional infrastructure assets, and the game changer of the digital and net zero agendas. The fact that one of the company’s growth themes is Asset Management demonstrates the business’s support of this growth aspiration.  As part of this step change, they are looking for an experienced asset management consultant with a proven track record in delivery AM improvement projects to an exceptional standard, on time and on budget.

The client’s Defence asset management markets include both the MoD, prime delivery partners, and the wider supply chain, both in UK and abroad.

Their services include:

  • Strategic Asset Management advice including gap analysis and improvement plans against ISO55001/ business process engineering, business plan development.
  • Asset Investment Planning, both long terms, including development of risk-based decision-making tools and methodologies, and prioritisation; and short term, turning Business Plans into reality and delivering outcomes.
  • Asset management policy and strategy advice and development.
  • Asset Management plans and planning advice and development.
  • AM capability building, supporting clients in strengthening their AM skills and expertise.
  • ISO certification
Key responsibilities
  • Use your Asset Management experience to help transform organisations in meeting their asset management aspirations to support their corporate objectives.
  • Delighting your clients with projects delivered in scope on time and in budget on a range of assignments.
  • Bring your client understanding and engagement skills to seek out, develop and land asset management opportunities, either directly from your existing client contacts or in collaboration with your company Client Director colleagues in the Market teams.
Skills & experience
  • An experienced asset management consultant with a proven track record of successful assignment delivery.
  • Interested in both leading and delivering work.
  • Capable of selling both internally and externally.
  • Ability to build sustainable relationships with customers, identifying and developing opportunities and managing these through to new work.
  • Willingness to work in professional collaborative environment with respect at the heart of everything we do.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • HNC/HND/Degree level in a related discipline or demonstrable relevant practical and theoretical Asset Management experience.
  • IAM qualifications.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Aspiration or working towards Chartered Engineer or Registered AM Professional or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in wider markets, with experience of consultancy selling to external clients.
  • Experience in ILS/ARM-T/RAMS techniques
