Aircraft Design Engineer
Introduction
Our client supports Military and Commercial Aerospace Manufacturing and Engineering services and are looking for an experienced Avionics Design Engineer to join their team!
You’ll work with the Aerospace Design Organisation, ensuring that designs meet certification standards.
You will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle: from initial proposal and costing, through concept, design, and delivery design solutions for a wide variety of aircraft modification projects.
You will be predominantly based on site in Cheltenham.
Key responsibilities
- Design aircraft electrical and avionics systems and concepts.
- Produce manufacturing and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
- Ensure compliance with the internal procedures to meet customer and aerospace regulatory requirements.
- Perform electrical load analysis.
- The analysis of existing systems and designs embodied on aircraft.
- Support production and installation engineers in matters relating to electrical and avionic design.
- Carry out aircraft surveys to define design solutions as required.
Skills & experience
- Experience working within an Aerospace Design Office.
- Previous experience as a drawing checker is beneficial.
- Experience of the full design life cycle from conception to delivery of the design package.
- Proficient experience of AutoCAD is beneficial.
- Knowledge of CAA / EASA Part 21 Subpart J (DOA) & G (POA) requirements.
- Knowledge of, and the ability to select appropriate avionic / systems and solutions.
