Air Safety Consultant

This will be a hybrid role, with some time required on site or visiting clients (2-3 days per week), but the rest of the work can be done remotely.

My client is a Defence and Aerospace consultancy who offer a range of independent and unbiased advice in engineering, technical and strategic advisory services to a wide range of Government clients.

They are looking for individuals who are self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of the Aerospace & Defence market.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide support to markets by creating a demand for products and services
  • Oversee and assure work undertaken by project teams
  • Provide a vision of future needs to support the development of capability
  • Provide of safety, airworthiness, technical evaluation, and certification artefacts
  • Lead major safety management assignments for clients
  • Work with clients to deliver aviation related projects.
  • Develop and generate Safety Assessment Reports
Skills & experience
  • Track record of developing Safety Management solutions at enterprise, platform or at system level
  • Experience in developing proposals and providing technical assurance
  • Develop innovative Safety Management solutions to support operations
  • Knowledge of the Defence, Aerospace and wider markets, or major contractor’s experience
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or equivalent or working towards it
  • Knowledge and awareness of their discipline and related disciplines and their developments across varied markets including Defence
  • Expertise in hazard and safety risk management
  • Knowledge of some of the following regulations and standards:
    • MAA Regulatory Publications, Military Air System Certification Process, Defence Standard 00-970, Military Aviation Hazard/Accident Management, ASPIRE, Air System Loss Models, BowTies, GSN/CAE, Hermes, Def-Stan 00-056, Airworthiness Strategies/Safety Management Plans
