Agile Programme Manager

Introduction

Our Consultancy client supports their Defence and Government customers on their Agile and technical journeys.

 

They are looking for candidates who have excellent experience in leading technical delivery, ensuring that technical and operational needs are met, and clients are satisfied.

 

You will need extensive experience in IT/Digital projects, as well as a very strong understanding of the Defence and/or National Security sector.

 

This role is on a hybrid basis with 2-3 days on site in either London, Cheltenham, Bristol or Manchester. You might also be expected to travel to other sites in the UK.

Key responsibilities
  • Working closely with clients in the Defence and National Security sector to bridge the gap between their needs and technical solutions.
  • Build strong relationships to understand technical requirements and client’s pain points.
  • Act as an ambassador for Agile methodology, embedding within and training client teams if necessary.
  • Lead a team that helps clients with their complex digital, technology, cloud and/or analytical problems. (depending on level)
  • Take responsibility for deliverables and client stakeholder relationships and deliver technical solutions for clients using Agile, Waterfall, Scrum or hybrid methodologies.
Skills & experience
  • Experience within a Defence or National Security client, operating as a Technical Delivery Leader/Project Manager.
  • The ability to effectively manage a team, delegate tasks, motivate employees, and oversee complex digital, technology, cloud and/or analytical projects.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, consulting experience would be a bonus.
  • Understanding of the procurement lifecycle, requirements gathering, evaluation techniques and negotiation skills.
  • Delivery leadership experience in either Cloud, Agile Software Development or AI/Data.
  • Experience leading projects and/or teams in Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Scrum@Scale, Waterfall /hybrid delivery.
  • Someone who is not afraid to make bold choices and respectfully challenge the status quo for the benefit of the client.
