Senior Java Engineer

Introduction

Due to Security Clearance requirements and the nature of the work being undertaken, this role will require work to be carried out full time onsite.

My client is a leading engineering consultancy who work closely with government clients to protect the interests of national security.

You will be working as part of the Enterprise Java team and will be developing and unit testing software.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and unit test software as part of the Enterprise Java system.
  • Contribute to the design and development of the product and add new functionality.
  • Analyse and fix bugs as required.
  • Help shape the design and architecture as the software matures.
  • Perform software releases, updates, and deployment activities.
Skills & experience
  • Experience within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Experience using DevOps practices.
  • Experience writing script using Java.
  • Experience creating JavaScript web applications using Angular or Vue.js, Linux skills, Docker.
  • Experience with architectural styles e.g., micro service architecture, REST, Database design, integration, management & maintenance (migration).
